TERMS & CONDITIONS

PAYMENT TERMS
Sawkille requires payment in full for all orders under $5K and 50% deposit payment for any order above $5K in order to commence with the production and lead time for every order. Sawkille accepts payments by credit card, check, and bank wire for international orders with a fee of $30 per transfer.

EXPEDITED ORDERS
Sawkille works to ship all orders in a timely manner, however rush ordering is available for an additional fee when applicable.  Our expedited order times may vary and are assessed on a case by case basis. 

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of confirmation of order.  Orders cannot be cancelled after this grace period has passed.  We cannot accept cancellations of rush orders once they have been confirmed. 

SHIPPING
All shipments will be made via carrier of our choice, unless instructed in writing to use a specific carrier.  Sawkille does have a drop ship fee of $75 for all items except Credenzas, Dining Tables, and Beds which are assessed on a case by case basis.  Special handling requests are subject to extra change. 

RETURN POLICY
All sales are final.  Custom products or modified versions of standard products are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. 

STORAGE POLICY
Customer orders are subject to a $25.00 per day charge for storage after 30 days upon completion of an order. 

DAMAGED GOODS
We ask to please examine your order upon delivery for any damage.  It items arrive damaged, we require an email with images of the damage, both of the item and original packaging, to be sent to our customer service team.  The original packaging must be kept on location for inspection by the carrier.  Please call (845) 217-7890 or your write Sawkille sale representative within 5 calendar days to initiate a claim. 

WARRANTY
Should our furniture fail at any time during the life of the original owner because of workmanship or a failure of the materials, Sawkille with either repair or replace it.  Damages caused by anything outside the scope of typical residential use can also be sent in for repair at a fee.  Please contact the team to estimate repair cost and lead time.  Timing, price, and availability will vary depending on location.  Some wood species, finishes, fabric selections, and design modifications are excluded.

CARE + MAINTENANCE
Sawkille Co. furniture is built from solid hardwood, locally sourced and sustainably harvested.  Our hand-rubbed oil and wax finishes, though labor intensive, allow for a natural aging process with lends a beautiful, rich patina to our pieces.  Air and sunlight will color the wood with a subtlety unmatched by made-made techniques and each wood species has unique qualities.  Some species may darken in sunlight other will bleach.  The location of your furniture in the home or workplace will determine how the wood will react. 

Recommended daily care: Use a clean cloth to wipe furniture surface until clean, follow with a dry towel.

Protecting from stains: Do not let moisture from spills settle into the wood's surface.  Do not place hot objects such as pots, pans, dishware, irons, etc on the furniture surface. 

When to condition: The wax finish on your furniture protects it against elements that can harm it.  Frequency of waxing will depend on the amount and type of use your furniture endures.  For example, a dining table will require more frequent waxing then a sideboard.  Frequent dusting is recommended.  Re-waxing every 3-6 months is considered good preventative care.  A dining table used everyday may need waxing every month.  A basic rule of thumb: when the finish is dull and needs more luster, it is probably time to re-wax. 

Basic waxing technique: To bring back the original shine of our oil-and-wax finish, you will need fine steel wool (0000 grade), Howard Feed N Wax wood polish, and a clean rag.  
     1) Lighting word the wax into the surface using steel wool; always work in the direction of the grain of the wood.
     2) Allow polish to set for 15-20 minutes
     3) Using a clean rag, wipe away all of the excess wax, buffing the surface to the original sheen.

Care kits including Feed N Wax, ring remover, steel wool and rags are available for purchase. 

**The basic waxing technique outlined above does not apply to bleached finishes.**
